What to expect on any given Sunday

We start out with a little caffeine and carbs- at 10:30 we open the Potter's Clay Cafe, where you can get free coffee, juice, bagel or muffin.  Find a seat, and get comfortable. Come early for a couch seat (you heard me- couches!). And don't worry, you can get a refill during the service.

At 11, we start off with "vertical time". During this time, we play soft music, and encourage seeking the LORD, to start focusing on Him. We also  seek a clear conscience, as we offer communion during this time. You'll see people walking forward, taking the bread and dipping it in juice. We don't take a formal offering- there is a collection basket by the communion elements.  Please feel free to partake in communion, but you won't feel any pressure to.

Vertical time leads right in to worship. Sing, stand, sit, kneel, get on your face, dance, raise your hands; what ever you want to do. Worship lasts about 30 minutes. We rock.

Then there will be a message- not too long, but relevant to your life, and the Kingdom.

We then close out in prayer- and have our prayer warriors ready to pray privately with anyone who seeks it. We think Jesus was serious when he said we can and will do the things he did, like heal the sick and free the opressed.

Most people hang out for a while, and go home.
See- it doesn't hurt a bit.
Here is a little sample of the type of music you are going to hear at the Vineyard of Athens
