Who are we?
Ordinary people like you, serving an extraordinary God. We're real people with real problems, praising Him for His grace and mercy. We love God and we love others, even with all the stuff they do that bugs us. We don't care what you wear, or how you look. We do care about your relationship with Jesus.  We tend to worship loud, but soak in quiet times of prayer.

The people at the Athens Vineyard believe we need to go "do the stuff" of the Gospel. We live that out by offering Angel Food every month. We also have a Food Pantry to give out free groceries to those who need it. We have started doing "Drive-By BBQ's" - going into neighborhoods, cooking out for them, talking to them, praying with them, and leaving hope with them. We give out school supplies at the beginning of the school year. We do Angel Tree every Christmas, where we get gifts for children who have a parent in prison. Like we said, "doing the stuff" of the Gospel of Jesus.

What's a Vineyard?
If you have listened to Vineyard Music, you know what to expect in worship. If you haven't, click here to go to the Vineyard Music site to sample some of the music played at Vineyards all over the world. At that website, you will also find books, DVD's and CD's to research what the Vineyard movement is all about.

There are over 600 Vineyard churches in the United States, and over 1500 worldwide. It's one of the fastest growing church planting movements. Most Vineyards are marked by a casual atmosphere and modern music, but there's more to it than just T-shirts and electric guitars.  We believe that the Kingdom of God, God's rule and reign, is central to Christ's message.  We believe that the Kingdom is here.... and not yet. We believe that God has called us to bring in the Kingdom, by going out and doing the works He did, like feed the hungry, heal the sick, free the oppressed. That's what being a disciple is.
We believe the Word of God should be and is the bedrock of our faith, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are available for us today.

We're not fancy, we like simple and honest. We believe that together in community, we make an impact for the kingdom. God didn't make us to live, worship, enjoy, or suffer alone. He designed us for community. He IS community- the Trinity.
